Afterhours Dropbox. Residents that are not able to conduct business with the town during business hours, now have an option to drop off paperwork after business hours for their convenience. The drop box is located at the bottom of the stairs before entering the Town Office Building.

Vehicle Registration
Click here if you would like to register your vehicle online. In order to utilize this system you will need the following documents:
- Registration of the vehicle(s) being renewed
- Driver’s license
- Checking account information (Checking Account and Routing Number)
Once you process your registration online, the Town Clerk will receive notice on the next business day and send the new registrations and decals to the mailing address on the registration.
If you would like to register a vehicle in-person, bring the following to the Town Clerk’s office:
- Registration of the vehicle(s) being renewed
- Driver’s license
- Cash/Check/Credit Card

Vital Records
Click here to request a certified certificate of a birth, death, marriage or divorce. If you would like to do this in-person , complete this application, print it out, and bring to a Town Clerk office along with your photo ID.

Dog Registrations
Click here to renew your dog registration. Your dog(s) must have been registered the prior year and have an up-to-date rabies certificate on file with the Town Clerk in order process your renewal. Registrations are due every year by April 30th. Registration fees are as follows:
- $9 - Unneutered/Unspayed
- $6.50 - Neutered/Spayed
- $2 - Seniors (1st dog owned by a resident that is 65 or older)
If your dog is not registered, bring an up-to-date rabies certificate to the Town Clerk’s office.

To obtain a facilities/transfer station permit sticker(s) you may do so by completing the Transfer Station Permit application and returning it to:

If mailing, include copies of ALL vehicle registration(s) requesting stickers and the appropriate fee.
Fees
- 1st vehicle: $20
- 2nd vehicle: free
- 3rd vehicle: $40
- 4th vehicle: free
If you plan to obtain a permit sticker in person, you must present your vehicle registration(s) (or a photo of your registration(s)). A photo of a license plate is NOT valid.

The following is what you need to bring to the Town Clerk’s Office:
A completed Residency Form
Proof of Identity – driver’s license, non-driver, military or government
Proof of Residency, primary proof – One (1) of the following:
- Lease agreement or statement from property owner
- Mortgage statement
- Purchase and Sales agreement
Proof of Residency, secondary proof – One (1) of the following:
- Utility/service bill (electric, water, cable, oil/propane)
- Payroll statement
Up-to-date rabies certificates if you own dogs
If you would like to register to vote, bring proof of citizenship (birth certificate, U.S. Passport/Passcard, or naturalization document)
New Hampshire Resident but New to Gorham
- In addition to what is needed listed above, you will need your current registration, if up for renewal or obtaining facilities/transfer station permit sticker.
Coming From Out of State
In addition to what is needed listed above, you will need to bring:
- The titles for owned vehicles. If you have a lienholder you will need to:
- Complete this affidavit form stating you will notify your lien holder of your change of address.
- Provide the lienholder name and address
What to Know
- 60 days to get a New Hampshire driver’s license and to register vehicles
- 10 days after registration your vehicle must be inspected
- Gorham does not send out registration renewal notices
- Transfer Station/Beach Permits are good for a 2-year period (currently from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2027) (decals are usually available starting in April).
- Dogs must be licensed every year by April 30th

Voter Registration Requirements in New Hampshire
A person must meet the following to register and vote:
- Be 18 years of age or older on election day
- Be a United States Citizen
- Be domiciled in the town or ward where they seek to vote
Important Note
Anyone wishing to register to vote in New Hampshire for the first time must provide proof of citizenship, identity, age, and domicile.
Proof of Citizenship (examples):
- Birth certificate
- Valid U.S. Passport
- Certificate of Naturalization
A driver’s license is not proof of citizenship.
Proof of Domicile (examples):
- Electric or cable bill
- Renter’s agreement
- Driver’s license (if domicile address is listed)
Per HB 1569, the law no longer allows affidavits as an alternative means of proving qualifications as a voter. If an applicant does not provide acceptable documentary proof of identity, age, citizenship, and/or domicile, they cannot be registered to vote.
What You Need to Register
You must provide proof of your identity, age, citizenship, and domicile to register. Proof may be shown with documents in paper or electronic form.
